Showing up and Showing out
This past weekend I attended a two day events in Mountain View Arkansas. As everyone knows I am a motorcycle enthusiast and Mountains, Music, and Motorcycles brought the wow. Beautiful bikes, Indian, Harley, Triumph, Honda and so many more. It was fun, fun, fun, a blast meeting and talking to people about Sins of the Sister. But I am worn out.
What I do not think people understand about independent authors is when it comes to participating in events such as this, we do everything. I do not have a team of assistants behind me. I am lucky to have someone dear to me that volunteers to help with the packing, loading, set up, and tear down. No matter if I have headache, a bad day, sleepless night before, I push through. People who are showing up for me will always get the best genuine smiles, conversation, attention, and a sincere grateful thanks for taking time to speak with me.
I guess the point I am trying to make is this. If you are at an event featuring independent authors know they worked their tails off not just writing a book but also to show up for you the fan. After all, without our readers we are just paper collecting dust on a shelf. So, to all I say thank you for your support.
